Wednesday Card Class

Hi Guys

Todays post is showcasing the items we made at card class yesterday.  I tell you these ladies are something else - I'm going to be completely grey by the time they are finished with me!  Amidst losts of banter and laughing and a few false starts we did manage to get creative and here are the results.

These cards are a take on one I did for an earlier post and the details are the same except we have used Night of Navy instead of Certainly Celery and the ribbon is Satin not Grosgrain.

Here are all 4 together!

Juanitas - Wonderful Friend

Ginny's - Happy Anniversary - not very clear, my photography skills aren't my strong point ;o)

Becky's - Wonderful Sister - and large bow, haha we joked that Beckys bow could be used for a hat at Ascot ;o)

Lou's - Favourite Aunt - little bow!

Think we were all quite chuffed with how lovely the finished items were.

The second card we made is also a follow up on one I did for an earlier blog.  We stayed with the same colours too.

The girls here have all chosen different sentiments which makes them more personal.  I love this colour
combo.

Looks like its going to be another lovely day.  Enjoy!

Working with Vellum

Hi Guys

I cant continue without talking about the weather - gorgeous again today!  I did some potting in the garden then lay under a tree for about 5 minutes before my 5 year old came to find me and ask me to play football with him BUT for that 5 minutes I felt like I was on holiday, blue skies and the leaves of the tree waving about above me, BLISS!

Amazingly enough, I did manage to fit in a little bit of craftiness.  My friend Gill sent me some pictures last night of things she has been making and I felt all inspired to be crafty although I'm not going down the Owl route today Miss Davidson.  I think Gill may either need to sharpen her Owl punch or get a new one soon due to overuse ;o))

Still in the spirit of Spring and Summer I made a flowery bright card which I hope you will like.  I have used velum over So Saffron then backed onto Certainly Celery.  The vellum has been run through the Big Shot using the Elegant Bouquet embossing folder.  I've then coloured the embossed flowers using my Whisper White Craft Ink and a blender pen.  Think its a really nice effect.

Its very difficult to see the sentiment as I've stamped this is White ink also

Ah here we go, you can see it a bit clearer here.

To make this card:

Card - Certainly Celery, So Saffron
Stamps - Wonderful, Favourite (US set)
Tools - Big Shot, Embossing folder Elegant Bouquet, Blender Pen
Embellishments - 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon Certainly Celery
Inks - White Craft

Hope you like it and hope you are all getting to enjoy the sunshine.

Take Care

Brayered Mothers Day Card

Hi Stampers

Been watching Dawn on youtube, can you tell?  ;O)  So this is a brayered effect for a mothers day.  The first few I did I used Whisper White CS and sponge daubered it with More Mustard & Pumpkin Pie.  I then stamped out a circle on a post it note and popped it on to the card  so I could use the brayer.  I used the brayer over the top in Grey and then Whisper White.  The effect is that of  a dusky eveming when the sun is bright. Love this effect

More Mothers Day

Hi Guys

Am still going with the Mothers Day cards and enjoying looking through all of the blogs that I follow for inspiration.  I cannot believe how talented people are, I hop from blog to blog then I cant remember where I saw a card I wanted to make because I'm about three blogs past it!  It is a fantastic way to spend time but very addictive and I have to seriously monitor the amount of time I spend doing it.  Ah, all in good fun.

This next card is my own creation and its very simple just stamping images from Artistic Etchings randomly around the card.  I have used Early Espresso for the letters which are Broadsheet Alphabet and matching cardstock.  The circle is stamped in Baja Breeze and the 2 corners of CS are Baja Breeze also.  The other items are stamped in Chocolate Chip and some are stamped off too which gives a bit of depth.  I've then used the sponge daubers with Chocolate Chip ink to give an aged effect.

It was my daughter Megans 15th Birthday yesterday and so I made some cards for the little miss and also some cupcakes ;o)  The cards were easy - the cupcakes, not so much!  By the time I had finished icing and decorating them the kitchen was like a bomb site, you would have been forgiven for thinking I had asked my 5 year old to do it!!  It was worth it in the end and they looked fab on the cute cake stand which I got in Sainsburys, they really do think of everything these days.

And of course I made the cards too.  This one was created using Basic Black, Melon Mambo & Whisper White CS,  the Ornament Punch was used for the vase and the Boho Blossoms Punch for the flowers.  The flowers are punched out in Melon Mambo & Real Red CS after being stamped in the Craft White Ink in the Punch Potourri Hostess Set.  The sentiment is from a US Stampin Up set called Wonderful Favourites.

The colours here are very similar with Melon Mambo & Whisper White CS again but this time I've added in Pumpkin Pie for the accent flowers and some little pearls to make it even more girly.  The background flowers are stamped in Old Olive Ink from the Just Believe set and are topped with the 2 smaller flowers from the Boho Blossoms punch.  I think they turned out very nicely.

Monochrome effect

Hi Guys

Have been doodling with black and white, well minimalist really, but lets go monochrome for effect ;O)
Have done a few of these cards as I always think they are fantastic when you need a card quickly and it doesn't get more versatile than this.

Basic Black Ink, Basic Black CS and Whisper White CS, that is all!
