Less Is More Challenge - Monogram - Week 20

Hi Guys

Its Saturday morning which means, yup, you've guessed it, another LIM challenge!  I missed last weeks challenge as was in New York for a long weekend but seeing Sly Stallone well......

So here is my offering for Monogram.  This card will be the Wedding acceptance card for my husbands best friend and his fiance, James and Laura.  I always think monograms and lovely and give a nice personal touch, hope they like it.

I've mounted an embossed white cardstock onto black, can you tell I love black and white?  The embossing folder is a Tim Holtz one which is lovely.  Everything else is Stampin Up!  My only real embellishment is 2 little diamante but I think it needed them although its always hard to know when to stop.  Still a LIM card I think ;o)  Glad to be back!

To make this card I used
Card - Basic Black, Whisper White
Ink - Basic Black
Stamps - Mr and Mrs, Broadsheet Alphabet
Embellishments - Diamante
Tools - Big Shot

Submitted to the Less Is More Challenge, Delightful Challenges - Anything Goes.

ps Please take a moment to check out any of my video tutorial (right hand side bar) - any feedback would be greatly appreciated.  THANKS!

Post it note holders

Hey Guys

Pretty stressful yesterday as no blogspot available and it also looked like I'd lost my most recent post.  Turns out they were working on it and I didn't lose my post.  I did however lose all my comments which is a shame.  At least we are all systems go today ;o)

Was outside selling raffle tickets for the pta today for the May Fair, when I left the house it was sunny and lovely but the minute I got outside (with no jacket) it clouded over and got pretty cold so I ended up chilled for an hour not ideal as already have a sore throat and have a gig tonight too, oh dear!

Alrighty these cute little post it note holders are super easy but excellent as a little gift.  I've used Elegant Soiree DSP to cover 2 beer mats, a piece of matching card stock inside and decorated the front using various punches and a letter from the Broadsheet Alphabet.

More Mothers Day

Hi Guys

Am still going with the Mothers Day cards and enjoying looking through all of the blogs that I follow for inspiration.  I cannot believe how talented people are, I hop from blog to blog then I cant remember where I saw a card I wanted to make because I'm about three blogs past it!  It is a fantastic way to spend time but very addictive and I have to seriously monitor the amount of time I spend doing it.  Ah, all in good fun.

This next card is my own creation and its very simple just stamping images from Artistic Etchings randomly around the card.  I have used Early Espresso for the letters which are Broadsheet Alphabet and matching cardstock.  The circle is stamped in Baja Breeze and the 2 corners of CS are Baja Breeze also.  The other items are stamped in Chocolate Chip and some are stamped off too which gives a bit of depth.  I've then used the sponge daubers with Chocolate Chip ink to give an aged effect.

It was my daughter Megans 15th Birthday yesterday and so I made some cards for the little miss and also some cupcakes ;o)  The cards were easy - the cupcakes, not so much!  By the time I had finished icing and decorating them the kitchen was like a bomb site, you would have been forgiven for thinking I had asked my 5 year old to do it!!  It was worth it in the end and they looked fab on the cute cake stand which I got in Sainsburys, they really do think of everything these days.

And of course I made the cards too.  This one was created using Basic Black, Melon Mambo & Whisper White CS,  the Ornament Punch was used for the vase and the Boho Blossoms Punch for the flowers.  The flowers are punched out in Melon Mambo & Real Red CS after being stamped in the Craft White Ink in the Punch Potourri Hostess Set.  The sentiment is from a US Stampin Up set called Wonderful Favourites.

The colours here are very similar with Melon Mambo & Whisper White CS again but this time I've added in Pumpkin Pie for the accent flowers and some little pearls to make it even more girly.  The background flowers are stamped in Old Olive Ink from the Just Believe set and are topped with the 2 smaller flowers from the Boho Blossoms punch.  I think they turned out very nicely.

Card Class Feb 23rd

Hi Stampers!
It's half term and  it certainly feels like it, I have the three kids at home.  We drove to Glasgow to see some family and spent a few days there which was lovely.  We came back down yesterday just in time for my card class.  To say that I was slightly disorganised is probably being kind but hopefully the girls forgave me and it wasn't too bad.

The projects were Mothers Day/Female Birthday and first we did 2 fairly simple cards with punches and then a little handbag which I completely fluffed the measurements of and as a result the girls had to avoid some score marks, oh dear.  Anyway the bags they made were gorgeous! I've got a couple of pictures here and I realise that I was so excited about the bags I didn't snap any of the other cards, nevermind I'll pop some on later.

Here are the bags from Becky, Louise, Juanita & Lydia.

Here they are together, so cuuuuuuuute!
Cardstock is Certainly Celery with so saffron Designer Series paper

Juanita used pink brads and Pear Pizazz poly stitched ribbon to tie her bag (the J is coloured in Old Olive), lovely!

This is Lydia's and the B is stamped in Certainly Celery, using the paper piercer on the scalloped circle is a lovely touch too!!

Becky opted for a beautiful flower in her circle and used the Certainly Celery Grosgrain ribbon and matching yellow brads.  How gorgeous are these bags?!

And last but not least we have Louises bag, the focal point this time is off to the right and she has stamped some additional decoration using the small flower from Silhouette Sentiments which I think works really well.

Well done ladies!  Believe it or not I felt pretty calm and stress free by the end of it all - who'd have thought it.

Will post some pics of the other cards later on.

See ya
