Embossing Folder

Hi Guys

Have been experimenting with my new embossing folders.  I got the idea for this from Michelles Quarterly Training and I think it was Nicky who did it, sorry cant remember her last name!

The Bird punch was punched out then stuck onto the different coloured card which was then run through the Big Shot in the Embossing folder.  I love the effect.  I tied the ribbon through the main image which is something I saw and don't think I've done before.

The sentiment.

And a close up of the ribbon.

To make this card you need

Card - Whisper White, Melon Mambo & Certainly Celery
Embellishments - Satin ribbon in Certainly Celery
Tools - Two Step Bird Punch, Scallop Edge Punch, Square Lattice
Stamps - Sincere Salutations

Hope you are all enjoying the wonderful weather

Flower, Daisies #2

Hi Guys

I have been pretty busy trying to clear up my craft room so that I am able to find things.  Making cards at the moment is a lesson is patience!  Anyway, half way through I found ssome flowers I had cut out in So Saffron using the Bigz Dies and ended up making a card.  Using supplies counts as clearing up surely?

The big flower just makes me think of summber and the simplicity of the Pear Pizzaz card and ribbon appeals to me.  You can just make out that I've stamped the sentiment in Craft White ink then in Basic Black to give a sort of shadow effect.

Here it is a bit closer to see the black and the white together.

A close up of the pretty flower.  What a great Bigz Die to have.  May have to make some more of these!

To make this card you need:

Cardstock - Pear Pizzaz, So Saffron, Bashful Blue (Textured)
Stamps - Sincere Salutations
Embellishments - Designers Buttons Subtles, Pear Pizzaz Stitched Poly Ribbon
Tools - The Big Shot, Flower, Daisies #2 Bigz Dies
Ink - Whisper White Craft, Basic Black

I'm Back!

Hi Guys

Its been a while but I'm back!  Easter was very busy and it was fantastic seeing all of my family.  Its always lovely to get back home though and get some crafting done.

This card is fairly general but I have opted to make it a 'Thank you' card.  The card base is Pretty In Pink, Whisper White, Chocolate Chip and Crumb Cake.  The main image is from level 2 hostess set Fast & Fabulous stamped in Crumb Cake, Pretty in Pink and Chocolate Chip and the sentiment is also Chocolate Chip.  The small thank you is from the Strength & Hope set from the mini & I've just singled out that phrase using the stamping Marker.  The Crumb Cake paper has been run through the brayer too.

A bit closer

and the super cute sentiment.

See you soon & Happy Crafting!

Spring Ritters Chocolates

Hi Guys

My friend Gill found these fantastic chocs from Ritters but in Pastel colours.  I decided to make little boxes for them, well more folders than boxes but they are so cute you have just got to cover them!

The CS is So Saffron and Pretty in Pink and the DSP is So Saffron.  I have edged the top lip of the box with the scalloped edge punch.  The brad is my own.

Butterflies

Good Morning!

The birds are singing and its lovely and bright and I kind of feel like I'm on my holidays ;o)

Have a lovely bright card that I made using butterfly die at Quarterly Training.  Michelle very generously told us to make good use of the dies we didn't have whilst we were there.

This is a very simple card but I think its lovely and spring like.

The CS used was Very Vanilla, Certainly Celery and Rose Red.  The Certainly Celery has been embossed with Perfect Polka Dots and Certainly Celery satin ribbon ties around the coloured card.  The butterflies are in Rose Red and Wild Wasabi DSP.

Satchel Card

Hey Guys

Well its Monday but it doesn't feel like it since the kids and my hubby are all off so its more like a Saturday, very busy and very loud.

This card is made using Rose Red CS which has been run through the Big Shot using the Top Note Die then again using the Perfect Polka Dot embossing folder.  I scored it in half then used the Word Punch as the clip to catch the long tag bit.  The brads are Basic Black which is a nice contrast to the Rose Red.
I have popped a sentiment onto some Very Vanilla CS and a little heart using the Small Heart Punch in some Rose Red DSP.

Here is a side view

Training Day Swaps

Hi Guys

Am back from Bicester Training which was fantastic fun and packed full of great ideas and inspiration.  I really cant wait to get some time to craft now that all these creative seeds have been planted.  Training events are always a great opportunity to meet people you haven't seen since the last event you attended and to make friends with people you haven't met before.  I had a great time so a huge thanks to Michelle for organising it, so Jenny for finding me so quickly (am seriously impressed) and for Zoe who entertained me so much I ended up cutting my finger cos I wasn't paying attention! ;o)

All in all a fab day!

Here are some of the swaps I received.

I'm sure some of these will be cased over the next few weeks as they are just lovely.

Quarterly Training at Bicester 17th April

Hey Guys

Here are my swaps for Quarterly Training.  I was a bit stuck on what to do but wanted to do something that included the fabulous Mini Catalogue products.  This one uses a little circle in Whisper White that has been embossed with the Perfect Polka Dot embossing folder.  The card is Night of Navy and the Scallop Circle is Tempting Turquoise as is the Grosgrain ribbon to tie it all together.  The sentiment is from Sincere Salutations.

Pretty simple and pretty cute ;o)

A bunch of them...

A little closer.  Hope everyone liked them.

Visitors!

Hey Guys

Have had an awesome week!  My brother Terry came to visit with my Niece Alex and my Nephew Terry.  A fantastic time was had by all starting with Terrys birthday gift at Silverstone Racetrack and finishing at Thorpe Park for my daughter Bethanys 14th Birthday!  Think I could do with catching up on some sleep but was a brilliant week, thanks guys!

Just to show how keen a crafter I am, I have pictures of when I roped my visitors into a craft session!  We made the cute shirt and tie cards and also some cards for Beths birthday.  Here they are...

Here are Terrys creations...

And Alex's...

And Uncle Terry's, colours here worked really well!

And last but not least, my daughter Megans cards.  Sorry about the lighting in this one Meg, not sure what happened there!

What a crafty bunch ;o)

Happy Anniversary!

Hey Guys

This little card could really be anything but I used it for Happy Anniversary and this sentiment is from Occasional Greetings stamped in Craft White ink.  The stamp set is Darling Dots and each of the elements have been stamped and cut out and raised on dimensionals.  Bashful Blue card is laid on Old Olive cardstock.  The background is Very Vintage in Night of Navy.  The little ribbon tag is Real Red grosgrain which I think is a bright spot bringing the card together.

Alrighty see you tomorrow

Another wedding?

Hi Guys

Here is a gorgeous wedding card, or anniversary/engagement card.  I saw this on one of my many blog trolls and I'm sorry I cant remember who made it :(  It is so lovely and so so easy using the trusty large Heart Punch.  The colours are Whisper White, Pretty In Pink and Basic Black.

The hearts are the focal point but they are laid ontop of an area that has been crimped giving another dimension.  The hearts are decorated with the smallest flower from the Boho Blossoms punch with some pearls added.  The Cherish sentiment is from Baroque Motifs and is perfect here.

Love it!

Owl punch

Hi Guys

This gorgeous card is cased directly from Vicky's blog (Crafting Claire).  It is the cutest thing and whilst not exactly the same all the main elements were Vicky's idea.

This is using the NEW and long awaited owl punch.  I haven't used all of the owl punch as I only needed the body to punch out the cute owl from Punch Bunch.  The backing paper is from Playdate DSP and the ribbon is Chocolate Chip grosgrain.  The sentiment is from So Happy For You another sale-a-bration set.  I used the markers to colour the owl so his eyes weren't coloured which meant I could stamp the owl friends with their little eyes looking to the side.

Another quilting one

Hi Guys

Very similar to the previous post I have another quilting card.  All the elements are the same although the main cardstock is Rose Red to tie in with the colours within the Springtime Vintage DSP, oh and the button is pink.  The paper is the same but have used different sheets and I think it does look quite different.

Here you go

The sentiment is stamped in Baja Breeze too, sort of the opposite of the other quilt card.

See you

Faux Quilting - Maureen would be so proud!

Hi Guys

Todays offering is using the fabulous new Big Shot machine, the top note die & the Springtime Vintage Designer Series Papers ALL from the new Mini Catalogue.  I have seen quite a few people do the quilt effect.  I thought my mum in law Maureen would like this as she does proper quilting (with material), hope you like it Mo ;o)

I used my square punch and punched 12 squares from 3 different sheets of the DSP, bear in mind it is double sided so you are really spoiled for choice here. Then I stuck them all gto a piece of backing card then used the Big Shot with the Top Note die to give me my central piece.  This is then added to a piece of CS using dimensionals. I have used Pretty in Pink CS.  Tie a piece of Very Vanilla grosgrain ribbon in a knot at the side.  The sentiment is stamped in Regal Rose and punched with the Large Oval Punch and a small flower button from the subtles range.

A little close up of the bow

And a close up of the sentiment with the little button, cute!

Anniversary Cards

Hi Guys

Well I have a doubler for you!  I needed Anniversary cards for my mum and dad in-law who I think are at 41 or 42 years and one for my good friend and downline Juanita who is celebrating her 1st Anniversary this week.  So lovely!!

The cards are the same and I've used simply changed the sentiment on the front.  The colours are Basic Black and Whisper White.  For the sentiment I've printed these off but they just look lovely and I hope they like them.

This one has pearls on the flowers.

This one has the main sentiment section raised on dimensionals.

Male Cards

Hi Guys

These are perfect for the men in your life whether its a Birthday or Fathers Day or just to say Hi!  These cute little shirt and tie combos are sure to make the recipient smile.  I actually first saw these on Dawns Stampin Thoughts and I have to say I am almost verging on stalking the poor womans youtube videos - but they are so good!  Anyway Dawn shows how to do these in a very clear and straightforward way so go ahead and take a peek if you haven't done these already.

I did these as one of my card class items but because there were 6 people squished around my dining table and it was a bit messy I ended up not taking any pictures although the girls did a great job with them.

Two of them are from the subtles designer series paper, Perfect Plum and Rose Red and the third one is from the Neutrals and is Chocolate Chip.  It takes around 2/3 of a sheet to make them and a square of Whisper White for the inside for writing on.  Soo Cute!

Alrighty see you soon

Tuesday Monochrome

Hey Stampers

Today I have 2 cards to show you, both of which I cased from another blog cos they were just too cute to ignore, so Margaret and Making Papercrafts, thank you for some inspiring cards.

The card from Making Papercrafts used Night of Navy and Whisper White but I went for Black & White.  Such a lovely idea to have everything mirrored in negative.  The punches are Two-Step Bird and the Small Heart punch and are punched in both Black and White and the sentiment is from Occasional Greetings.  The crimper gives the lines top and bottom creating another element.

Obviously the colour scheme is the same.  The large stamp from Baroque Motifs is the main element with thte smallest flower from the Boho Blossoms punch being added on top with some tiny pearls in the middle.  The sentiment is from Cheer & Wishes and has been punched out on black using the Modern Label punch.

sorry the picture is a bit blurry, not quite sure what happened there, although I'm sure you get the jist of it ;o)

Monday morning

Hi Guys

Ah the start of another week and its Easter holidays woohoo.  Easter and Spring just give me that flower feeling so I've gone for Just Believe, this is probably the best money you will ever spend on a stamp set, you can get it for £25.95 in the clear mount but you get 9 stamps in that, 4 of which are sentiments, a real bargain.

The colours are Certainly Celery, Whisper White and Real Red cardstock and I've used the Scallop Trim Border punch for the Red card at the top and bottom.  the flower stamp is coloured in corresponding colours using the marker pens and the 'thank you' sentiment is from the Occasional Greetings stamp set but the style goes very nicely with this card.  Lastly I've tied some Real Red grosgrain ribbon around the centre.  Pretty

Mothering Sunday

H i Stampers

It is Mothering Sunday and I have had the loveliest day.  I didn't get up until midday though and although that does sound bad, in my defence I was singing last night with Mojo and didn't get home until 2am, not sounding quite so lazy now I hope.

Chris took Conal out for the morning so i could enjoy my lie in.  He even brought me in a Starbucks, it doesn't get better than that.  The three children all made me handmade cards which was soo lovely, and no, they didn't use Stampin Up products!

These cards are similar, both on the wedding theme and I like to make a stock of wedding cards as there does tend to be a glut of these over the summer months.  The main stamp set and the colour scheme are the same for both cards.

Very Vanilla and Regal Rose CS are coupled with Chocolate Chip Ink.  The jumbo wheel is So Whimsy and this is really a versatile item, I have used it so much and often colour in the circles using the marker pens.   The 3-tier cake is from Fun and Fast notes and again I've used the marker pens as I didn't want the sentiment from the stamp.  The Happy Anniversary is from Cheer & Wishes and I've used the White Craft Inkpad for this and a little strip of Chocolate Chip satin ribbon to finish it off.

For this card I've used the Very Vintage jumbo roller and used the sentiment from the wedding stamp separately and layered on top of the ribbon.

Alrighty I'm off to enjoy the rest of my day - I think it may even involve some crafting.

Mini offerings!

Hi Guys

This cute little card is only 10cmx10cm so will fit into a square envelope perfectly.  I have stayed on the mini theme and have used the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder, which is my absolute favourite just now and a real bargain at only £6.95.

The card is Pretty In Pink with the embossed cardstock in Whisper White.  The tiny cupcake is from Itty Bitty Bits, a set of 9 gorgeous teeny tiny stamps which have coordinating punches and clear buttons!  How cute is that!  The cupcake is stamped in Regal Rose and using a dimentional is raised onto Pretty In Pink cardstock which is also raised.  I thought the card was pretty enough so left the sentiment although almost any one would work here, and opted instead to tie some Certainly Celery grosgrain ribbon around it.

The Launch of the new mini!

It's here!  The Stampin Up mini is finally here!  The cute owl punch is finally available and I for one will be excited to get my paws on it!  If you would like me to send you a copy of the mini pop me an email and I'll get one in the post to you straight away.  The other amazing thing is that the Sizzix Big Shot is now offered, fantastic!  The die cuts and the embossing folders are just lovely.

This card is a male birthday card and I've used the Big Shot embossing folder Polka Dots for the background.  This is such an easy yet effective way to create a card.  CS used is Very Vanilla and Cherry Cobbler.  The raised dots on the Cherry Cobbler have been inked in Early Espresso which is a great effect.  The sentiment is from the Level 1 Hostess Set Afterthoughts and is raised on dimensionals.  Very Vanilla grosgrain ribbon is added underneath the sentiment to add another element.
