Here are the cards, finally.  One of my lovely daughters had taken my camera with her to a sleepover without asking & so couldn't upload, I also spent a fair bit of time hunting for it which wasn't ideal but have it now.

The "3 Wise Men" has the image embossed in black then a masking technique to create the moon whilst brayering the background.  Then it is just layered with the saying.

The "Mary & Joseph" is stamped and then coloured using Stampin Up stampin write markers with the blender pen giving an almost water colour effect.  The card is then layered with a Stampin Up punched edge.

What can I say, I have been on a mission and as such, have managed to create a multitude of cards, the Christmas cards for my mum-in-law, the lovely Maureen who I've mentioned before.  Am going to post a couple of pictures to show what I've been doing.  This wasn't too difficult as Mo's only criteria was that they were religious, which is what I thought - however, finding nice religious/christ related stamps actually proved to be a struggle, I kid you not!  Anyway, never let it be said that I don't rise to a challenge ;o)

Here are a couple of pictures of Christmas cards that I've done.  As you can see I like navy and white, its one of my favourite combinations.  The large snowman is stamped using the Stampin Up set "A Beautiful Season" a gorgeous set.  The smaller card is stamped using Night of Navy ink pad with the Stampin Up set "Snow Globe"  Its hard to see from the picture but the snow flakes and the snow the snowman is standing on have been sprinkled with Dazzling Diamonds glitter.

Nada on the crafting today, or tonight I should say, the night just got away from me and, after last night being pretty late I think I may need to retire a bit earlier tonight, need the old beauty sleep!

Well didn't manage to get any crafting done today but hopefully manage to get some stuff done tonight, which would be lovely, here's hoping.

Gorgeous day today, the sun is shining and although it feels freezing outside, from inside its like a summers day!

Its less than 3 weeks till the Stampin'Up! convention at Addington Palace in Surrey and I am so excited, 2 whole days of craftiness woohoo!

Crafting into the night

It is definitely time for bed but am feeling quite happy with the progress I've made tonight on my Christmas cards, sounds a bit weird to be doing that in October but I have promised to make all of my mum-in-laws cards too and she will need approx 100!  The great thing is that all the proceeds from her cards (I won't take anything) will go to SAMH (Scottish Association for Mental Health) a charity the whole family supports. So the thinking is that I'll get my own cards done and out of the way, so to speak, and then I can get everything else done at my leisure.

Nighty night

Halloween Treats

Since it is almost the time for all things spooky I thought I would make a little treat for my son to take into his class on the last day before they break up for half term.  I decided to do a very simple design because I needed to do 32 at least.  Again the fabulous youtube came up trumps and I chose to do what the Americans call a 'Sour Cream Container'.  I'm from Glasgow and we would've have called the same thing a Jubilee - you bought the carton with orange juice inside and popped it into the freezer for a couple of hours then, voila, a jubilee!

Either way they are very cute and the perfect size for some treats to be popped inside, in this case some spooky Haribo with a Halloween sticker on the outside.

I should also mention that I crimped either side along the folds which not only makes it look better is also gives a stronger hold to the glue.

October Training - Bicester

After a lovely day spent with other like minded ladies I got home tired but still pretty excited about all the things I saw and learned and wanted to get all my little tips noted down before I forgot (not getting any younger)!

I won some fabulous raffle prizes which I will show you below.  These included the fabulous new set Artistic Etchings which I am just desperate to get started on.  A also managed to pick up the new flat style punch Scallop Trip Border - an example of this seriously cute trim is on the header in this page.  Hmmm trying to think what my third thing was but it eludes...nope, it was the Basic Rhinestones, something I would never have ordered but when I saw them sitting on that table glinting at me I just couldn't resist.  And, they are gorgeous, its almost a faceted but which makes them sparkle like crazy, a definate for you bling lovers out there.

My Swap for October Training using Combo Christmas Stamp Set.

Didn't think you could see the Dazzling Diamonds glitter so thought I'd zoom in a bit!

New Items!

Good Afternoon!

So having spent a considerable amount of time looking around different websites and youtube videos I have made a couple of very cute items.  Add to that my delivery of Stampin'Up! punches and I was in my element.  The downside to all of this happy crafting is that I was actually looking for Christmas ideas and also an idea for swaps for the November convention.  Ah well, any crafting is, well, crafting so thats good.

Happy Tuesday

ps.  I should mention that the about items on the header under my name are the two most recent projects!  The stamp is, yes you've guessed it, one of my new ones too.

So now that I have a blog I can fill you in on bits and bobs about me, what I've been up to by and what crafting I've managed to get done - exciting stuff!
